First forays into trebuchet making.

The Rus are negotiating with the Byzantines to join their army, so all the Rus archers will demonstrate their skill with an IKAC round. Beware though! Rumours abound that the Byantines have treachery on their minds!

The Battle of Dardanelles Straits. Two teams (Rus and Byzantines) will shoot at ships, and the people on them. The waters may be choppy, so be sure to bring your sea legs

a basic introduction for those just trying out archery shooting at standard targets. Experienced archers will be on hand to get you started shooting safely.

Throughout the event - Final at 4:00pm Friday at the Archery Range on the Village Green

Archery is a skill practiced throughout the Middle Ages across all continents, and this continues in the SCA.

The traditional "archers duel" for Thorfydd’s Arrow. Archers will shoot combat-legal arrows at stationary, combat-armoured targets. Two archers at a time will advance together with a marshal until commanded to begin shooting. Archers will have 6 arrows, and the first to shoot their target in the head, body or arm wins. This will be fought as a double-elimination tourney. Bows and arrows will be available.

Consorts are known for their grace, accuracy and consistency and the Consort's Round demonstrates this by gradually reducing the scoring zone of the target.  Shooting will be at 30 yards. Each archer shall have 3 arrows per round to shoot a scoring shot. If they fail to do so they are eliminated. Each round the available scoring zone decreases. Can you keep your nerves in check and your eye on the target? Bows and arrows will be available.
